Autorecovery of constructions after unexpected program exit

An autorecovery function for constructions has been added to the software. This function helps if the system crashes in a construction or the program is terminated due to a power failure. If the function is active, the user is asked at the next start whether he wants to restart the construction in its last state. From version 10.12.29.x on this function is automatically active. The saving interval can be set between 1 and 10 minutes. By default, we deliver the function with 5 minute intervals.The function setting is saved in the database and applies to the entire system in the network. If the Compass user administration is used, the setting is saved per user.

DXF CAM Export of Pockets

The export of pockets has been extended in the DXF CAM interface for steps, single combinations and series combinations.

This has been implemented:

  • 2 levels were extended → 'Pockets top' and 'Pockets bottom'
  • The representation in the DXF should takes the export side into account in the output → step side, bottom side 
  • 'Pockets top' are tread infills and the pocket from the external stairs (here it is selectable on which side the pocket is located)
  • 'Pockets bottom' are concrete core notches, pockets for open stringer grooves, flanges, angles, pocket from external stairs (here it is selectable on which side the pocket is located)
  • The extended layers are available for the single and series combinations

Extension XML station: Modify and Copy Staircase

It is possible to copy and modify existing stairs via the XML station. Parameters for the components can now also be specified in the XML file, which can add or modify the materials/surfaces for the respective components.

The parts to be modified can be found under the tag <COPYANDMODIFYSTAIRCASE> in the parameters 'MATERIALTREAD, MATERIALPOST', [...] or 'SURFACETREAD, SURFACEPOST', [...].

Balustres under the stringer

We have added the function to 'Create' balusters to the stringer menu. Balustres can now be created here that need to be below the stringer. This results in a triangular railing or a harp railing below the stringer. All settings that are available for the railing above the stringer are also applied below. The values for the railing below can be predefined separately for the ground floor plan and the height construction.

The visualisations and outputs have been extended. The new balustres are displayed in the construction of the ground floor plan, in the height construction and in the 3D Plus. Like the balustres above the stringer, they can be customised via the 'Properties' menu. The balusters are stored as templates in the order tree. The affected components, stringer, base rail, etc., receive the corresponding processing according to the design, e.g. the dowel holes or the railing rod holes.

The fitting plan and railing view have been extended. These can now be used as DXF or Compass forms. The parts list and XML output has been extended to include the output of the balustres and a new parameter that outputs the neighbouring part above the balustres. This enables a clear assignment of the balustres to a component/balustre chain.

Balustres on floor/well: Extension of inputs

Previously, the balustres always needed a railing part at the bottom as a reference. If there wasn't any railing part at the bottom, the balustres stood on the floor (bottom) or on the well (top) and could not be adjusted any further. The height construction was extended here. Double-click on the lower half of the balustre to open the new menu in the height construction of the staircase and/or balcony construction or right-click the bottom half of the balustre to gain access to the 'Properties' (both in the height construction). The balustres can be extended here. As elsewhere, they can also be shortened using minus values.

For the staircase and balcony construction, the value can also be stored in the height construction predefinitions.

Exit Post: Reference added

There is already a post reference at the entry post that refers to the front edge, middle and back edge of the post in relation to the tread edge. This allows the post position to be set independently of the post dimensions. This post reference in relation to the well hole is also available now at the exit post and in the ground floor plan predefinition.

Post besides Tread: 'Depth tip in tread' added

The 'Depth tip in tread' option has been added to the ground floor plan drilling pattern for 'Post besides Tread'. Previously, the reference for the screw was always the post edge. The drilling depth in the step was a result. The front pocket was not taken into account. The consequence of this is that you have to create screws with incorrect lengths to achieve a certain drilling depth in the step or to take the front pocket hole into account. This is different in the height construction, here the depth of the tip is defined in the drilling patterns, the front pocket hole is set independently of the depth of the tip and follows the input in the screw. You can work with the new setting in the ground floor plan drilling pattern 'Post besides Tread' in exactly the same way as in the height construction. The function must be actively activated using the 'Fixed' button and the desired value must be entered. The representation of the screw in the floor plan now also corresponds to the representation in the height construction. The old dialogue 'Post beside Tread' has been updated, the references have been given an extra page.

Freeform Construction: Values will be saved in registry

Settings from the freeform construction are saved in the registry and reused so that the same parameters appear again the next time the dialogue is opened.

Extend has the Total length and Extention mode in the dialogue. The preferred mode is memorised here, the numerical value remains individual.
Create parallel and Round off remember the last value used.

 

Freeform Construction: Extension of shown parts

In the ground floor plan construction, you can create auxiliary lines in the free-form module. The function is available with the articles 00118501 - CAD Stair Plus, 00137006 - Option CAD Auxiliary Lines, 34191001 - Complete Package ND USA

Previously, only limited stair parts from the ground floor plan were visible here. As these support the designer in the construction of the auxiliary lines, the scope of the display has been extended. Handrails, stringers, risers and the tread line are now also displayed.

Forms: Re-calculate always as an option

The 'Always recalculate' function has been added to the properties of the form templates and forms. Forms that use this function are recalculated each time they are opened or exported as a PDF. This has the advantage that old planning statuses are never adopted. If it is used, no changes are applied to the measurements. To avoid problems when using the function in the forms, 'Manual dimensioning' should be deactivated. The 'Manual dimensioning' function can be found in the properties of floor plan or component forms.

Forms: 3D cuts incl. part selection

We can display the 3D cut from the construction like a railing view in a component form. The form can be multi-page and a part selection is possible. The drawings can be customised and measured using the measurement module.

Moving Bolt diameter tip added

In the 'horizontal bolt' fitting, it is possible to enter different diameters for the head side and tip. The 'moving bolt' previously did not have this option. As both fittings are often used together in a staircase, this resulted in different drilling diameters in the stringer templates. However, this is not desired, both fittings should be drilled identically. To avoid errors, this option has been added to the Moving bolt.

This was done:

  • The tip of the 'moving bolt' is adjustable as with the bolt horizontal , so that the holes in the cheeks have the correct diameter
  • The value is transferred to the stringer template
  • The diameter of the head is displayed in 3D → If bolts in stairs sit in mortises, this is not visible. If it is only about the holes in drilling templates or stringers, the visible stud is 16mm. In the stringers or the wall, however, 30 mm is drilled for a rubber bearing, for example. The Bolt is mounted in the rubber bearing to reduce the impact sound of the step against the wall or stringer.

Dynamic Clamping & Dynamic Flange: Addition of categories

The categories have been expanded in the dynamic clamping and dynamic flange. The category can now be assigned in the fitting and is analysed in the parts list. The items with a category can be set separately for the fitting itself and the drillings.

Treads: 'Groove for glass infill front edge' horizontally (5-axes)

It is now possible to machine the groove for the glass infill horizontally on the front side in treads. If the 'horizontal' checkbox is activated, the tool entered is used to work horizontally on the front side.

Treads: Sanding offset for tread plates

A sanding offset can now be entered under 'General 4' of the tread settings in a CNC predefinition of the standard parts, which is added to the material thickness of the tread plates. The module plate optimization is needed!
